Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to HaulinBuddy (https://haulinbuddy.com). We are a family-owned hauling service and technology provider dedicated to cleaning up our communities and ending illegal dumping. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our hauling services or join the waitlist for our AI-powered logistics platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all our users.

Hauling Service Data

When you book a pickup (Mattress or Cardboard), we collect your name, phone number, email, and pickup address. We may also collect photos of the items to provide accurate quotes.

AI Platform Waitlist Data

For hauling businesses joining our beta, we collect business names, fleet sizes, service areas, and professional contact information.

Automatically Collected Data

Like most websites, we collect standard log info (IP address, browser type) and use cookies to understand how you interact with our site and to optimize our local SEO.

Approximate City Personalization

On our focused service pages, your browser contacts GeoJS, which receives your IP address to estimate your city. This does not request GPS access. We use only the city, region and country to personalize page wording, and retain only the city choice in session storage for up to 30 minutes. We do not store the lookup’s raw IP address or coordinates. You can change the city on the page. We skip automatic lookup when you have declined our cookie preference. Pricing and service eligibility depend on the actual pickup address you submit. See GeoJS’s privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Schedule and execute hauling services in the San Leandro, Castro Valley, and greater Bay Area.
  • Prevent illegal dumping by maintaining records of where items are collected and where they are responsibly recycled.
  • Generate SB 1383-compliant recycling manifests for our commercial cardboard partners.
  • Develop and refine the HaulinBuddy AI Engine for smarter routing and dispatching.
  • Communicate updates regarding your service or your status on the AI Beta Waitlist.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only share data in the following circumstances:

Recycling Partners

To comply with California law, we may share volume and material data with certified recycling facilities.

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party tools for payment processing, map routing, and email communications.

Legal Compliance

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., to prevent illegal dumping).

5. Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Whether it's a residential mattress pickup or a fleet's logistics data, we use industry-standard encryption and secure protocols to protect your information from unauthorized access.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (including California residents under the CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request the deletion of your data.
  • Opt-out of marketing communications or waitlist updates at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe."

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our AI platform evolves. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with a new effective date.
